Klein-Rogge in the role of Wil Brand,
the cousin of the twins Georg and John Vanderheit
As the dashing youth, Rudolf shines as a caring bystander in the marital troubles of Mia May's Irmgard Vanderheit. She is trying to escape her evil husband's fury, going by train to a Swiss village in order to find haven. Wil is luckily 'going her way', so he finds her and warns her to go and hide in the mountains. Irmgard, in her trek through the mountains, finds her husband's twin brother, whom she really loves. After her husband falls to his death in the mountains, the good brother sends Wil to go along with Irmgard, to look after her. Ever the chivalrous youth, Brand takes her back down the mountain to the town, not without the intenet of trying to woo her himself. As expected in any film where Rudolf makes a play for the girl, his plans are grandly foiled.
